Music Industry Creatives at Indiana University Presents Burning Couch Festival. 

[Bloomington, Indiana] - Music Industry Creatives (MIC) is a student-governed 501(c)(3) organization at Indiana University. They are days away from hosting their annual music and arts festival known as Burning Couch. Open to all ages, the day-long festival will be held at Switchyard Park on April 14, 2024. Aimed to provide a platform for emerging artists and musicians to celebrate their work, MIC will host 21 promising musicians across two stages in addition to several art vendors placed throughout the park.

Prepare to experience a unique curation of music and sound, with bands representing genres from hip hop, shoegaze, classically infused metal, and more, every audience member is bound to be satisfied. The MIC Events Director, Evan Coveney, describes the setlist as, “a variety of curated genres that showcase the diversity of quality music coming from the Midwest”. The main stage performances will include productions from the infamous Six Foot Blonde group and the female-fronted punk band called Leggy. This year, MIC is proud to present the festival’s headliner, Wishy, a band on the rise based in Indianapolis, IN. Wishy provides a unique alternative sound and have embedded themselves as a Bloomington favorite. In between sets, audience members can enjoy captivating performances by InMotion Dance Company. 

Across the vast field from the main stage lies the 11,000-square-foot pavilion. Inside the building, guests can plan to check out the 20 local artists' pop-up shops, listen to 9 varied acoustic acts, and enjoy beverages served by Upland Brewery. Right outside the pavilion, guests will have access to several unique food trucks and vendors. Over at the skatepark, there will be a skate-jam partnered with Rhett Skate and WIUX from 4pm to 6pm.
